In case a player has both a FIDE- and a Dutch KNSB-rating, the highest rating is used for determining the group to play in. The rating list of 1st July 2026 is used for this. The organisation team has the right to deviate from the above rules.
It is an open tournament., which also includes the Dutch Student Chess Championships Blitz. The best two students qualify for FISU World University Championships in October 2026 in China. More info, see link.
Playing system and timecontrol 9 Round Classical: In every group nine rounds will be played according to the Swiss system. In round 1 until 6 only one ‘bye’ can be requested. Time control for every player is 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes extra time for the rest of the game; with a time increment of 30 seconds per move from the beginning of the game. The games start daily at 14:00 pm, with exception of the last round: on 19th July the games start at 12.00 pm. The playing hall will be open half an hour before the start of the games.
Note: FIDE laws of chess apply, with the exception as described in article 1 of the Tournament regulations. Time for a player to show up at the chessboard as described in article 6.7 is 60 minutes.
